The youth arm of St. Kitts – Nevis’ main opposition party the  People’s Action Movement PAM is highly enthusiastic about their inaugural Youth Convention slated for this weekend Sunday 5th April 2009 at  2:00 pm at PAM Headquarters.

The Youths for Change (Young Pamites) as the group is known will be hosting the event  under the theme “Wanting a Change, Creating the Change and Embracing our Change”.

According to Mr. Wallis Wilkin Chairman of the groups advisory board the convention will provide a forum where youths will be engaged and solicited to express the problems, concerns and issues that they face as youths and provide possible ideas of solutions.

The inaugural event will feature various speakers drawn from the community.

These speakers will give presentations aimed at motivating, encouraging, inspiring and advising youths . The speakers will be mainly youths who have excelled in various field including business, music and otherwise. Among the speakers will be the Hon. Shawn K. Richards Parlimentary representative for Constituency #5 and the youngest member of the St.Kitts-Nevis parliment.

“This vibrant group of young people have never been more motivated to mobilize youths,” said Group advisor Wallis Wilkin. “We expect well over 300 youths ranging from secondary school students to employed young professionals and entrepreneurs. We are anticipating very exciting presentations by speakers as well as a very lively open forum and or grouped sessions where youth concerns, issues and their possible solutions will be presented and discussed'” Wilkin continued.
