Tourism Outlook For St. Kitts – Nevis Is Strong

Tourism stakeholders have been commended for their input into the success of Tourism Awareness Month following two grand culmination events over the weekend.
Both the 8th Annual Tourism Awards Banquet organized by the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and the launch of National Carnival were an exciting and educational climax to an eventful month of activities.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism Hon. Richard Skerritt said he was pleased with the tremendous show of support from partners for this years’ observance.
Minister Skerritt said the goal of the month is to highlight the importance of tourism and to strengthen linkages among stakeholders.
“Of special note is the fact that the family of tourism stakeholders is increasing annually, indicating that people in every sphere of society are gaining an understanding of their role in the industry and the personal benefits which can be derived from of its success,” he said.
The Minister of State commended members of the planning committee, making special mention of several persons who served tirelessly and who are not employed by the Ministry.
The planning committee was also applauded for its inclusion of a variety of activities geared toward the education and participation of Youth including the Work Experience Programme. The businesses and institutions which opened their doors to students were given special praise.
A senior ministry official told SKNIS that the ministry is confident that people are grasping the importance of grasping the opportunities made available by the industry and the significance of timeliness in gaining maximum returns from it.
