Four Seasons Receives $3.7 Billion Offer From Investors Including Saudi Prince, Bill Gates

TORONTO (AP) — Companies owned by Bill Gates and a Saudi prince announced Monday they had joined with the founder and CEO of Canadian hotel giant Four Seasons in a bid to take the company private for $3.7 billion in cash.

The offer, equal to $82 per share, was made by Four Seasons chairman and CEO Isadore Sharp, along with Sharp’s family holding company, as well as Kingdom Hotels International and Gates’ Cascade Investment LLC. Sharp founded the Four Seasons in 1960 with one small hotel in downtown Toronto.

Nevis School Receives Laptop From Former Student

CHARLESTOWN NEVIS, (November 06, 2006)
The St James Primary School received a gift of a Dell Inspiron B130 laptop computer from a past student on Friday November 3rd, 2006, following a request by the executive of the school’s Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA).
 
The computer was delivered to the Department of Education on Nevis on behalf of Mr. Patrick Nisbett who resided in the United States. However, Mr. Joseph Wiltshire, Education Officer handed the gift to the school principal Ms. Vertelly Weeks in the presence of PTA President Ms. Verline Glasgow and Secretary Ms. Colette Weekes and students and staff at the school’s auditorium.
 
During the presentation, Mr Wiltshire explained that sometime ago Miss Glasgow approached the former student and asked if he would donate a computer to the school.

Nevis To Be Represented At PANCAP Meeting In Tortola

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 6TH 2006 (CUOPM)
St. Kitts and Nevis will be represented at an upcoming meeting of the Pan Caribbean Partnership (PANCAP) Against HIV/AIDS to be held in Tortola, British Virgin Islands later this week.

Minister of Health, Hon. Rupert Herbert and his Permanent Secretary, Mr. Elvis Newton, will be among 100 officials from the Caribbean as well as Asia, Switzerland and Germany at the November 9th and 10th meeting.

Representatives will also attend from the University of the West Indies, the Red Cross, the Caribbean Council of Churches and the Red Crescent Society as well as other Non-Governmental local and regional organisations.
