Premier and Minister of Tourism in Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry and Organization of American States (OAS) representative in the Federation, Mr. Starret Greene, showered much praise on the participants of the Certified Hospitality Department Trainer (CHDT) workshop which was held on St. Kitts recently.  The workshop was convened over a four day period.

There were ten participants, six from St. Kitts and four from Nevis.  At the end of the course, participants were tested formally and the results showed that there was a seventy percent pass rate. However, all four participants from Nevis were successful.

The Nevisian participants were Mrs. Pamela Barry, Mr. Kremeur Maloney, Mrs. Clare Yearwood and Mrs. Lydia Lawrence. Each successful participant was presented with a certificate of achievement as well as the CHDT pin, which qualifies them as Certified Hospitality Department Trainers.

During the closing ceremony of the workshop which was held last week at the Ocean Terrace Inn on St. Kitts, Mr. Greene challenged participants to strive to become architects of change overseeing the development of the industry into the 21st century.
