Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry told listeners to his popular radio programme, In Touch with the Premier, that the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) Youth Convention will be held on Sunday, March 13th at 4:00pm at the Occasions Event Center.

Mr. Parry stated that the NRP Youth convention would be the first political youth convention ever to be held on Nevis.

He commended the NRP Youth Arm President – Mr. Shaun Springette, Vice President ““ Ms. Phillichar Hobson and NRP Youth Arm Organizer ““ Ms. Idona Browne, for all the hard work they had done to organize the auspicious event.

According to the Convention’s programme, there will be a presentation by the NRP Youth Arm President, the reigning Miss NRP Queen ““ Miss Phillichar Hobson, an address by Premier and Leader of the NRP, the Hon. Joseph Parry and a presentation by the guest speaker H.E Ambassador Joan Underwood of Antigua, who serves as Non-Resident Ambassador to Mexico, Chile, Brazil and a number of other Latin American countries.

Mr. Shaun Springette said some of the policies of the NRP Youth arm are to promote the general development of the youth in Nevis and to encourage and foster better relationships between young people and the government.

Ms. Browne explained that the youth had played an integral part in the Political Organization.

“Youths have played a major role in the NRP political organization.  The young people have escorted the Premier to the stage before political meetings, presented the candidates before they mount the political platform at various venues and they have carried out canvasses in various villages in Nevis,” she said.
