Premier Of Nevis Island – Joseph Parry
Charlestown, Nevis
March 12, 2009
Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry applauded the achievements of his Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) led Cabinet which he said are due to their closeness. He made the statement Tuesday night at a Town Hall meeting in Craddock Road, Charlestown.
“We the cabinet are operating as a tight team and that is why we have achieved in two and a half years what many people say the previous government have not accomplished in fourteen years,” commented Premier Parry.
According to the Premier no one can look at his Cabinet and say they have not performed. “Every minister has performed! When we look at Health, Social Affairs and Solid Waste, who can say Minister Daniel has not worked? When we look at Minister Hector and see the amount of Housing constructed and the growth in Agriculture in Nevis, no one can say he has not performed. When we look at the Roads, Geothermal exploration and the development of Water, it is evident that Minister Powell has performed. When we examine the subsidies given to the people of Nevis and keeping the supply office stocked, it is plain to see that Minister Cozier has performed. This government is and will continue to perform for the people of Nevis.”
The Premier said the goals that have been met by his administration came out of dialogues and similar Town Hall meetings with the people of Nevis. He also said that when the Administration recognize developments done by the NRP led Nevis Island Administration (NIA), one can identify developments in St. George’s, Camps, Fountain, St. Thomas’, St. Paul’s and all parts of Nevis, because according to Premier Parry, this government has ensured that the whole island has benefitted.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Premier, Hon. Hensley Daniel, while the panel consisted of all the Government Ministers in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA). At the end of the meeting a healthy dialogue took place between the panel and a number of residents from Craddock Road, Ramsbury and Hamilton.
