The Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry addressed the official opening ceremony of the 13th Anguilla Nevis St.Kitts Annual Reunion (ANSAR) on Saturday, June 21st.

This opening ceremony was hosted by the St.Kitts and Nevis Returning Nationals Association at the Marriott Beach Resort on St.Kitts, under the theme, “˜One People, One Purpose, working together for Progress and Prosperity.’ The conference was held from June 20-22, 2008.

During the address, Premier Parry took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the Nevis Island Administration and urged the gathering to preserve the union among the islands.

“We have people from all over St.Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla. You have formed yourselves into one organization. You have done this from a time when we were one colony consisting of St.Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla. Continue to work together and maintain a strong sense of unity.”

Premier Parry also told persons of the Diaspora to keep abreast of the activities as the island continues to develop.

“Anguillans, Kittians, Nevisians”¦you are here for this anniversary, take a day or two and travel these islands, find out what is taking place and find out what opportunities are out there for you. Many of you have experiences that some others may not have, many of you have been exposed to ideas that some others have not been exposed to. Many of you have concepts that can be implemented on these islands. I am sure some of you are looking to retire and move back home, but why bother retire when your mind is so agile, young and fertile. Put your minds to work and help the continued development of your islands,” articulated Premier Parry.

Other addresses came from St. Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas and Anguilla Chief Minister, Hon. Osborne Flemming.
