One of the counsels for the opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM) has disclosed that he had informed the party’s Political Leader, Mr. Lindsay Grant of receiving the fax from the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal Court of Appeal “at that point.”

Wednesday morning, Mr. Grant, in response to information provided by Government’s Senior Counsel Mr. Anthony Astaphan, in the Constituency Boundaries Commission case, of decisions of the Court of Appeal, called into WINNFM Voices programme to complain that he had called all of his solicitors and they indicated to him that they had not received any notification of a Court of Appeal ruling in the constitutional matter.

Senior Counsel Astaphan in quick response to Mr. Grant’s misleading statement described the PAM’s leader’s remarks as “dishonest and dishonourable” which cast aspersions on the independence and impartiality of the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.

In setting the record straight, Mr. Astaphan said the information was faxed to one of PAM’s lawyers in St. Kitts, Mr. Vincent Byron.

Thursday afternoon, SKNVIBES reported: “Some closure was brought to the matter today (Sep. 24) when, according to WINN FM, Vincent Byron informed that he had received the fax earlier yesterday, but had been out of office for most of the day. He added that he did inform Grant about the fax at that point.”
