The Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, St. Kitts Minister of Finance, Consumer Affairs, Industry and Commerce will be visiting Nevis to promote and present copies of his book, “˜St. Kitts and Nevis, A portrait of a Nation, Celebrating 25 years of Independence.’ The presentation will take place at the Nevis Red Cross on Chapel Street in Charlestown on Thursday, November 6th.
The book which has been compiled over the past year outlines St. Kitts- Nevis’ transition from a British Slave Colony to an independent nation, with particular attention paid to the nation’s increasing presence on the international stage.
Dr. Harris says he was inspired to write the book because St. Kitts- Nevis is still a young nation with 45 percent of the population under twenty five. He went on to say, “It is a possibility that some persons could take the fruits from past struggles for granted, if they do not know the story of our independence.”
