The new Pogson Medical Centre in Sandy Point will be officially opened on Thursday 26th March.
This was announced Tuesday by St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, who said the opening ceremony will begin at 4:30 P.M.
The Pogson Hospital and the Sandy Point Health Centre, which served Sandy Point and surrounding communities for several decades, will be located on the grounds of the hospital.
“Several weeks ago I used this programme to talk about the Pogson Hospital”¦..the physical changes that have been brought about to that facility”¦”¦the vastly expanded services that will now be available there”¦..and the very positive impact that all of this will have on the people of the western part of the island of St. Kitts, not only in terms of health care, but also in terms of convenience and accessibility,” said Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas during his weekly radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister.”
He said the commissioning of the new medical center is a major accomplishment.
“I ask for God’s blessing both on all those who will work there in the years ahead, as well as all whoever may enter those doors seeking to replace pain with comfort, and illness with healing,” said Prime Minister Douglas, a medical doctor by profession.
The new Pogson Medical Centre embraces an integrated approach to health care delivery.
Several services included in-patient, ambulatory, dentistry and community health services will now be offered at the new and improved Pogson Medical Centre.
