Additional Education Resources For The Federation

The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College- University of the West Indies (CFBC-UVI) Video Conference Centre will be officially handed over to the Ministry of Education and the local tertiary educational institution.
The equipment for the centre was donated by the University of the Virgin Islands and the room was refurbished with the assistance of LIME, the Ministry of Education and the CFBC.
“The Video Conference Centre here allows our local students who are pursuing the Master’s degree programme that started in 2008 to sit in on lectures from the UVI St. Thomas or St. Croix Campuses or students at the St. Thomas and St. Croix Campuses to sit in on lectures from CFBC,” said CFBC’s Acting Principal, Mrs. Sonia Boddie-McPhail.
A ceremony is planned this afternoon (Wednesday) at the CFBC’s Main Campus on Burdon Street during which the President of the University of the Virgin Islands, Dr. La Verne Ragster will handover the video conference centre to St. Kitts and Nevis’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, the Hon. Sam Condor.
The ceremony which starts at four “˜o’ clock will be chaired by UVI graduate and lecturer at the CFBC, Mr. Hugh Heyliger.
According to the programme, Welcome Remarks will be said by Acting CFBC Principal, Mrs. Sonia Boddie-McPhail and the Project Overview by Kittitian-born Professor of Social Science at the UVI, Dr. Simon-Jones Hendrickson.
Remarks will also be said by LIME Country Manager, Mr. David Lake, President of UVI, Dr. La Verne Ragster and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Hon. Sam Condor.
Mr. Heyliger will give the Vote of Thanks and the Closing Remarks by Dr. Leighton Naraine.
