St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, M.P. (Labour St. Christopher 6) has congratulated Mr. Vincent Bryon Jr., the senator-designate on the opposition benches in the Federal National Assembly.

“I congratulate Mr. Byron for this accolade that has been given to him. This responsibility, this appointment that has been given to him, that has been announced by the People�s Action Movement (PAM),” said Dr. Douglas during Tuesday’s “Ask the Prime Minister” weekly radio programme.

Dr. Douglas also used the opportunity to congratulate the Hon. Mark Brantley, M.P. (CCM Nevis 9), on his appointment as Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition in the National Assembly.

The opening of a new session of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly is scheduled for next week following the January 25th 2010 General Election which saw the return of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party for an unprecedented fourth consecutive term of office.

The Labour Party received 60 percent of the votes on St. Kitts with six seats to the People’s Action Movement (PAM) two seats. In Nevis, the Concerned Citizens Movement.
