St. Kitts – Nevis PM Congratulates New Taiwan President

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has congratulated new President-Elect of the Republic of China on Taiwan, His Excellency Dr. Ma Ying-jeon on his recent election victory.

“The Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis share in your joy and join hands in extending warm congratulations on this great success,” said Prime Minister Douglas in his congratulatory message.

Dr. Douglas told the incoming Taiwan President, who is yet to be inaugurated that the “Republic of China (Taiwan) has long been a faithful and close partner of St. Kitts and Nevis for nearly 25 years and we the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis remain firmly committed to the furtherance and growth of this friendship. It is my hope that under your leadership, this relationship will continue to blossom, producing benefits of mutual advantage for both our two countries.”

“Your years of service to your country as Minister of Justice, Mayor of Taipei and Chairman of the Kuromintang Party, not only illustrates your commitment to the advancement of the Republic of china (Taiwan), but provides a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly assist you as you lead the people of your country. Indeed the road ahead will be filled with challenges and I assure you of my country’s firm support,” said Prime Minister Douglas.
