Sunday’s 79th Annual Conference of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party is being described as “highly successful.”

“The turnout was phenomenal, and the energy level was high.  There was openness, discussion, and debate, and everyone – everyone ““ without regard to age, or class, or view, was free to express themselves fully and completely. In other words, it was a typical Labour session in that there was a thorough and democratic airing of everyone’s views ““ as there always has been in our  political party – and our Conference ended only when everyone was satisfied that they had been heard. This is the same type of openness that the Labour Party brought to the area of governance in the Federation,” said Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

Dr. Douglas, who was re-elected unopposed as Political Leader of the party said during his weekly radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister” Tuesday that “at the end of the day, after having reviewed all of the issues that all of our branches had brought to Conference, we ended  – energized by the dynamism and focus that had characterized the  entire day,  and ready and eager to move into the future.”

The Conference was held under the theme “Planting Seeds Today for Tomorrow’s Harvest” at Grand Ballroom of the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
