Nationals living in New York and the surrounding areas will hear first hand from St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas on developments in their homeland.
The Federation’s Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, His Excellency Delano Bart, Q.C. has invited nationals to a meeting in the Bronx on Monday night.
The meeting, which begins 6:30 P.M. at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 777 Barnes Avenue on 222nd Street in the Bronx.
Attending the meeting also are former Speaker and attorney at law, Ms. Marcella Liburd and Cable TV Marketing Executive, Mr. Glenn “Ghost” Phillip.
Prime Minister Douglas is expected to update nationals from the twin-island Federation on the impact of the international economic and financial crisis is affecting the nation.
He is also expected to highlight the challenges faced as a result of the international situation and discuss the achievements in the social, economic and political arena.
Areas to be covered include tourism, healthcare, public utilities, agriculture, housing, manufacturing, sports, culture, social development and national security.
The governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has always included nationals in the disapora in the decision making and shaping of policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life.
The Prime Minister and other Ministers of the Cabinet have always made it a priority to meet with Kittitians and Nevisians as well as national associations in town-hall style meetings when visiting the various capitals on official business.
