Nevis’ Premier and Minister of Education, the Hon Joseph Parry on Thursday 5th pledged the Administration’s commitment in transforming the education system on the island.
 
“As Premier of Nevis and Minister of Education, I embrace World Teachers’ Day and pledge my support for the teaching fraternity,” he said in a televised address to all teachers on Nevis.  “My government will make available the necessary financial and human resources to ensure that teachers are equipped to deliver the services they are committed to do.

The Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority (NASPA) has announced the appointment of Mr. Spencer Hanley as the new General Manager of the Authority effective October 1, 2006.

Excel Airways, which flies every Saturday into the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport from London-Gatwick, said its website, XL .com, achieved the feat less than six months after launching a new look, simpler to use website.

Larger Cruise Ships Have Implications For Caribbean Industry

The Caribbean needs to begin playing close attention to the implications of the larger and most luxurious cruise ships that are being place into service.

“If we think about Royal Caribbean’s “˜Freedom of the Seas,’ which was launched earlier this year; it is 160,000 tons with a capacity for 4,300 plus passengers, but that is already stunted by Royal Caribbean’s “˜Genesis’ project which speaks to a tonnage in excess of 220,000 tons and 6,000 plus passengers,” said Chief Executive Officer of local shipping agents, Delisle Walwyn & Co., Mr. Denzil V.
