St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is elated that Nevis’ flagship resort, The Four Seasons is reopening later this year.
Responding to an email during his weekly radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister” last Tuesday, Dr. Douglas said he is elated because the reopening of the Four Seasons Resort will not only put people back to work but boost not only the economy of Nevis, but also the overall economy of the twin-island Federation.
Dr. Douglas praised the efforts of the Premier of Nevis the Hon. Joseph Parry and his NRP-led Nevis Island Administration (NIA) for working assiduously and tirelessly to get the resort, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Omar two years ago, re-opened.
“I know of the tremendous hard work personally of the Premier and his team to get the Four Seasons reopened. Putting politics aside, I think this has been a tremendous effort on his part. was close to what was happening and I know the agonizing moments when it was felt that maybe the hole effort would have been derailed and we are very, very pleased that the resort is reopening,: said Prime Minister Douglas.
Dr. Douglas said the closure of the Four Seasons Resort has resulted in “tremendous financial challenges on the local economy in Nevis and the overall national economy of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
