Charlestown, Nevis (May 23, 2007)
Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry, along with Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Ashley Farrell, will be left the Federation on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 to attend the 45th Meeting of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (O.E.C.S.) May 23rd-25th, 2007.
Premier Parry and Mr. Farrell will be part of a Federal delegation headed by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Int’l Trade, Industry and Commerce, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, Chief Secretary, Mr.Joseph Edmeade, and Assistant Secretary, Ms. Nerys Chiverton.
The meeting will be held at the Grand Beach Resort & Convention Center, Grand Anse, in St. George’s, Grenada.
Matters for discussion at this decision making meeting will be, the O.E.C.S and Economic Developments in relation to Agriculture, issues related to energy, Governance of the Community along with Crime and Security Developments, Health and an array of other important issues.
Following the O.E.C.S meeting, Premier Parry will be leaving Grenada to attend the 37th Annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) hosted by the Government of Venezuela from May 27th-31st.
Dialogue in the meeting will include a seminar on Economic Relations between the Caribbean Community and Latin America and a roundtable discussion under the theme “Building Economic Empowerment in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The meeting will be held in Caracas, Venezuela at the Radisson Plaza Euro Building.
