Devon Liburd, Sales and Marketing Director at the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) says the 3rd annual Nevisian Chef Mango Feast was successful. It formed part of the Nevis Mango and Food Festival hosted by the NTA on July 10, 2016, at the Oualie Beach Resort Hotel.

Liburd told the Department of Information on July 11, 2016, that the event provides an avenue to showcase local chefs and their creative mango products and cooking skills.

“The event overall was a very successful event, we had a number of persons patronizing the event. We had some folks coming over from St. Kitts to participate.

“Some of these local chefs had an opportunity to share in a clinic with Iron Chef Judy Joo and Chef Natasha Corrett of Honestly Healthy fame in London and had the opportunity to display their dish and to demonstrate how it was prepared,” he said.

Liburd also stated that the event generated excitement among patrons as they sampled the various mango related dishes prepared by the local chefs. He also thanked the chefs for their participation.

“Going through the audience yesterday afternoon and speaking with individuals the general feedback was that it was a very enjoyable afternoon and it was a successful event. I must give gratitude to all of the chefs who participated and participated with lots of enthusiasm,” he said.

Participating in the Nevisian Chef Mango Feast were Chefs Iyanna Dore, Berecia Stapleton, Michael Henville, Paulette Fredrick, Ronaldo Mills, Sylvester Wallace, Llewelyn Clarke, Cleo Hanley-Walters, and Kurt Daniel of the Water Department Sports Club.

The Department of Agriculture also participated in the event through its Agro-processing Unit, O.D Brisbane and Sons Ltd. and Agro-processor Olvis Dyer of Dypresco.
