Charlestown, Nevis Ferry Dock Awash

Oualie Bay, Nevis
Well it seems as though the damage to Nevis and St. Kitts was worse than originally thought.
Here is a report from my good friend Tracy Rigby…in a way that only she could say it.
“sea bridge now leaves from oualie. sea hustler tries to drive thought chevys on pinneys’ beach. Julian bridge at double duce. Fours season is mash up and Mango is an island nearly. water went up from Charlestown pier to treasure building now NTA all is well with us. we open for lunch and got swamped. Island is still in shut down mode. but we have power. hugs tracy”
Glad you are OK Tracy, and glad The Gallipot survived.
All the best, Magic

PS an unconfirmed report just came in that The Four Seasons Resort ENTIRE ground floor was underwater. They maybe closed for up to a YEAR! Bad Luck That :(
KennyMac, Thanks for this. I hope it is true for their sake, but I worry about it actually being accurate. Only because getting ANYTHING done in Nevis in a hurry, is nigh impossible.
Island Time You Know :)
I just called Four Seasons worldwide reservations in New York and they advised the resort will remain closed thru most of December of 2008 with hopes to open December 31, 2008.
I am now hearing that Four Seasons may open up much sooner than a year, but when I called there, I could not get a straight answer.
Just now found this on The Four Seasons Resort Website. See below.
“Four Seasons Resort Nevis was impacted by Hurricane Omar and the Resort is currently closed.
The Resort successfully evacuated all guests and employees and everyone is reported safe.
This information will be updated on October 22. For other inquiries, please call the Resort’s New York Sales Office at
