PAM Leader Lindsay Grant – PAM Ready For Elections!

St.Kitts-Nevis Opposition party Leader Lindsay Grant announced the date for the upcoming polls in the twin island federation. Grant while addressing a massive crowd of supporters in the historic town of Old Road stated that he had received reliable information that polling day would be on January 18th 2010.
The PAM leader emphasized his party’s readiness and said that his team is prepared for the January 18th election.
“Freedom Day is near. January 18th 2010 is FREEDOM DAY in St.Kitts-Nevis,” Grant said to the delight of the thousands of gold/yellow-shirted party supporters in attendance.
“We are prepared, we are ready, and we are going to defeat Denzil Douglas and the Labour Party at the polls come the next general elections,” Grant said.
On Tuesday night, hours before Parliament would have automatically expired the St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas announced the dissolution of Parliament, but said he would announce the date for the poll in the coming weeks.
“I was not at all surprised by the Prime Minister’s address and his dissolution of parliament a mere 3 hours before it automatically dissolved on him,” the PAM leader stated.
The ruling Labour Party Gov’t is in the 6th year of a mandated 5 year term of office. Elections in St.Kitts-Nevis was last held on October 25th 2004 .
Peter Wickham of CADRES recently suggested that his companies most recent polls show that the St.Kitts-Nevis Opposition PAM can win 5 of the 8 seats on St.Kitts. The St.Kitts-Nevis parliament consists of 11 seats total.
In the 2004 elections PAM won one seat but was very narrowly defeated in 3 others . With a record 27 murders for the year, a national debt of 3 billion, inconsistent power supply,high cost of living and widespread accusations of corruption by the government pundits have declared that the upcoming elections will see a change in government.
