Captive Insurance, Ombudsman bills to get first reading in National Assembly

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 31ST 2006 (CUOPM) ““ The Property Tax Bill, 2006, the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Bill, 2006 and the Divorce (Amendment) No.2 Bill, 2006, will be debated when the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly meets on Tuesday 1st August.

According to the Order Paper circulated by Clerk of the law making body, Mr. Jose Lloyd, the Divorce and Cricket Bills, in the names of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social and Community Development and Gender Affairs, Hon. Sam Condor and Minister of State in the Ministry of Sport, Sen. the Hon. Richard “Ricky” Skerritt, respectively, will be given their first readings at Tuesday’s sitting, while the Property Tax Bill, was given its first reading on May 25th.

Also down for first readings are the Captive Insurance Companies Bill, 2006, which stands in the name of Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and the Ombudsman Bill, 2006, which stands in the name of the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Hon. Delano Bart. Both bills will be debated at a later sitting.
