Nevis Premier Parry  vs Hurricane Omar

Premier of Nevis,   the Hon. Joseph Parry announced today (Wednesday) the track of Hurricane Omar and the way forward for the people of Nevis, in a live broadcast to the Nation.

Premier Parry said the present track of the center of the Hurricane was located at 235 miles South West of St .Croix with the storm moving in a North Easterly direction. He indicated that the system could produce 4-8 inches of rain.

The Hurricane will be affecting Nevis this afternoon as the center of the storm will be closest to Nevis at about 2:00-3:00 on Thursday morning.

All Government workers were asked to leave work at 2:00 pm this afternoon to make necessary preparations.

Said Premier Parry, “Let us all take necessary precautions and do whatever is required to protect ourselves during this time.”

The Premier went on to say the island is in a state of readiness and everyone must pray and hope that God protects Nevis like he has in the past. He also implored residents to stock up on food, water and necessary supplies.
