The St. Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Education, Youth, Social and Community Development and Gender Affairs is seeking a loan from the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to engage consultants for a child development project.

According to an advertisement in local newspapers over the weekend and on the CDB web site, the overall objective of the assignment is to provide training in behavioural psychology and counselling to teachers in the school system in St. Kitts and Nevis and to enhance the curriculum as it relates to behavioural psychology and counselling in the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).

The Bank said the loan from the Caribbean Development Bank will go towards the cost of a Child Development Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of the loan to a consultancy contract for the provision of Short-Term Training for Teachers under the project.

It said that the procurement of these consulting services shall be subject to the provisions of the loan agreement. The advertisement provides the criteria for companies submitting applications.

Submissions will be assessed based on technical competence, qualifications and experience, regional experience on similar assignments, financial capability, the extent of prior commitments, and proficiency in English.

Submissions should include corporate profile, descriptions of similar projects completed within the past five years and curriculum vitae of key personnel.  This information should be submitted in the formats outlined in the evaluation questionnaire, which will be available by hard copy or e-mail from the first address below from Friday, May 30, 2008.

The Statements of Capability with completed questionnaires must be submitted on Wednesday, July 2, 2008.
