The island of Nevis welcomed the New Year with the opening of two new restaurants, Calypso and L’escale. Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley celebrated the arrivals, expressing gratitude for the continued growth of the local economy and the confidence shown by new investors. Calypso: Authentic Korean Cuisine Arrives in Nevis
Premier Brantley highlighted the significance of Calypso’s debut, noting that it brings a unique dining experience to residents and visitors. He shared his enthusiasm by stating that Nevis is excited to welcome a restaurant offering authentic Korean cuisine and encouraged the community to show its support.
Calypso officially opened its doors on January 6 at Potworks, Nevis. The restaurant has announced special opening hours as it begins operations:
- January 12–14: 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- January 18–21: 12:00 pm: to 8:00 pm
Beginning January 22, Calypso will open daily from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Guests are invited to enjoy a taste of Korean cuisine and can make reservations by calling (869) 664-9647.
L’escale: A Fresh French Bistro Experience
The second new venture, L’escale, hosted a soft opening on Saturday. Owner Gillian Smith shared updates on the restaurant’s Facebook page, offering a glimpse of the early menu. She noted that the bistro features fresh mussels, a baguette baked that morning in St. Martin, and an artisan cheese selection.
According to her announcement, L’escale opened for dinner on Saturday and Sunday starting at 4:00 pm. The restaurant’s early offerings signal a stylish addition to Nevis’s dining options, combining French inspiration with a welcoming island atmosphere.
