Several Royal Caribbean cruise ships have St. Kitts’ Port Zante on their itinerary during the 2012 to 2102 cruise ship season.

According to Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, the Adventure of the Seas, the Legend of the Seas, the Independence of the Seas, the Vision of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas will visit St. Kitts on either one-time, weekly or bi-weekly itineraries.

The cruise line’s website lists the 78,000, ton Vision of the Seas, which has a passenger capacity of 2,436, visiting Port Zante in November and December 2012; January, February and March 2003 and January 2014.

The 160,000 ton Independence of the Seas, which has a capacity of 3,634 passengers, has scheduled calls in October and December 2012, January, February, March, November and December of 2013 and January, February, March and April 2014.

The 3,114-passenger-142,000 ton Adventure of the Seas has calls booked for November and December 2012, January, February, March, April, November and December 2013 and February and March 2014.

Legend of the Seas, which has a capacity 2,076 passengers, has calls booked for Port Zante in January, February and March 2014.

Brilliance of the Seas, with a capacity of 2,501 passengers has Port Zante on its itinerary in November and December 2012 and January, February and March 2013.

The 3,114-passenger Explorer of the Seas is booked to visit St. Kitts in November and December 2013 and March 2014, while Grandeur of the Seas has Port Zante booked in April and December 2014.

The 2,252-passenger capacity Enchantment of the Seas is booked to visit St Kitts April 2013, while Jewel of the Seas will begin year round calls to St. Kitts’ Port Zante in November 2012.

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Sen. the Hon. Richard Skerritt in a statement in the National Assembly said the redeploy the Jewel of the Seas to the Caribbean from May to October 2013 to offer 25 sailings out of San Juan, Puerto Rico will result in 16 additional calls to Port Zante during the summer of 2013, bringing over 33,800 guests.

“Jewel of the Seas will operate with three Southern Caribbean itineraries in the summer and autumn, and two itineraries in the winter and spring 2013-14 seasons. Departing every Saturday, the seven-night, round-trip itineraries include calls at a range of exciting ports throughout our sub-region, including St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Antigua, and the U.S.V.I., as well as St. Maarten, Barbados, Aruba and Curacao,” he said.

Mr. Skerritt also disclosed that Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas returns for the winter 2013-14 season to bolster Royal Caribbean’s offerings from San Juan, alternating two seven-night Southern Caribbean itineraries.

The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) reported that 600,131 cruise passengers visited St. Kitts in 2011 from 305 calls, 84,392 more than the 515,739 cruise passengers in 2010 from 257 calls and 170,752 more passengers than the 429,379 in 2009 from 219 calls.
