The setting up of an off-shore university of engineering was one of the important issues discussed in India during the visit by St. Kitts and Nevis‘ Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.
Prime Minister Douglas also discussed with another group of investors the setting up an offshore university of engineering on St. Kitts which will be open to students from St. Kitts and Nevis, the wider Caribbean, the United States, Canada and other nations.
The facility will provide modern first rate training in engineering which would help St. Kitts and Nevis to develop and enhance the necessary expertise to service its diversified services sector and allow the islands to compete globally.
All the initiatives hold great potential for employment and improve the quality of life on both St. Kitts and Nevis.
Prime Minister Douglas is accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Kevin Isaac, St. Kitts and Nevis’ High Commissioner in London and Senior Assistant Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ms. Beverly Knight.
The St. Kitts and Nevis leader is the second Caribbean Prime Minister to visit India this year. In January, the Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago visited the Asian nation.
