Shooting Now A Murder Investigation

On Monday 10th January 2011 at approximately 10:25 pm a shooting incident occurred at a night club at Cunningham Street and Fort Thomas Road where Ashley Allers of Fortlands and Devon Morton of Upper Monkey were shot and injured when two (2) unknown masked men entered the club with guns and fired a number of shots.
Both Allers and Morton were admitted to the JNF Hospital where they received treatment for their injuries. Allers was subsequently discharged but Morton remained under hospital care.
This shooting incident is now the subject of a murder investigation as 28 years old Morton who was hospitalized since the incident succumbed to his injuries this morning (Tuesday 25th January 2011). An autopsy will be performed at a later date to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
