About 100 specially invited guests, well wishers and supporters of the SKN Labour Party took part in the official introduction and launch of 6 Time National Calypso King Konris Maynard as the Official West Basseterre Labour Party Candidate for the upcoming Genaral Elections.
Maynard will be contesting the West Basseterre seat and attempting to remove former Deputy Prime Minister and Constituency Representative and 25 year Parliamentarian Hon. Sam Condor.
The launch took place in the heart of the constituency at the Twilight Zone Conference Hall which is located at the Lime Kiln Industrial and Commercial Park.
Government officials at the modest sized gathering included the Prime Minister Rt Hon Dr. Denzil Douglas, Ministers of State Hon. Richard Skerrit and Nigel Carty along with Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Earl Asim Martin and Hon. Marcella Liburd. Other well known affluent figures in the SKN Labour Party were also present including Hazel Ross-Robinson and Ambassador Astona Browne.
The meeting began at 7:30 pm and the new candidate was formally introduced. Maynard addressed the gathering and shared his vision for the constituency.
In July, the National Executive of the Labour Party through its Candidate Selection process, approved the nomination of Maynard ahead of Attorney General Jason Hamilton.
