E-Government Seminar To Be Held At Marriott Resort

The International E-Government Seminar – Cooperation Experience between St. Kitts and Nevis and Republic of China (Taiwan) will be held on November 27, 2008 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Technology of St. Kitts and Nevis and the Taiwan International and Cooperation Fund (ICDF), the Seminar attracts ministers, directors, and specialists, who are in charge of the E-Government affairs in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) as well as the public and the private sector of the Federation.

The twin island Federation and the Republic of China (Taiwan) have collaborated on many Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects since 2006. The Seminar is the highlight of Information Technology Month and will focus on the development of E-government strategies and experiences from fruitful cooperation.

The opening ceremony, to be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Antigua Ball Room of the Marriott, will feature with two addresses by the Hon. Deputy Prime Minister Sam Condor and H. E. Ambassador Chen, Secretary General of the Taiwan ICDF. In addition, a handing-over ceremony of a second computer laboratory, the first of which is the main training room at the ICT centre will also be held at 1:30 p.m.
