The legendary Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim is entering an exciting new era. Sponge Marketing & Events, in partnership with SwimTrek, has announced new ownership of the celebrated island-to-island race, taking over from founder Winston Crooke who has guided the event for the past two decades.
New Leadership and Vision
Sponge founder Jane Hansom and SwimTrek will jointly manage and elevate the event, aiming to attract a global audience of open water swimming enthusiasts and triathletes. Hansom expressed her enthusiasm for the future of the race, noting her personal connection as an 11-year participant. “Together, we will take this iconic race to new heights, promoting the beauty of Nevis and St. Kitts to a global audience,” she said.

The 23rd edition of the Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim will take place on April 6, 2024. This 2.5-mile (4.1 km) open water challenge runs from Oualie Beach on Nevis to Cockleshell Beach on St. Kitts, crossing the scenic Narrows that link the sister islands. The swim’s crystal-clear tropical waters are home to vibrant marine life, offering a breathtaking backdrop for athletes and spectators alike.
