By invitation of the government of the Republic of Cuba, the Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas, prime minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, arrives in our country on an official visit today. His delegation is also comprised of Earl Asim Martin, minister of public works, utilities, transport, mail and communications, and other members of his government.
The visit to Cuba by Prime Minister Douglas is an expression of the friendship between the peoples of Cuba and Saint Kitts and Nevis, and will contribute to strengthening ties of cooperation between the two nations, along with constituting a further manifestation of the desire on the part of both governments to develop bilateral ties.
The distinguished visitor and his accompanying delegation will carry out a full agenda of activities until March 6, which include meetings with Cuban leaders and visits to diverse places of economic, scientific and historic interest.
Cuba and Saint Kitts and Nevis established diplomatic relations on May 10, 1995.
