The Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry will be leaving the Federation on Thursday, November 16th, for the United States of America where he has been invited to The Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) 13th Annual Caribbean American Heritage Awards Gala. This ceremony is schedule to take place on Friday, November 17th at the Marriott Hotel in Washington D.C.The Premier will join The Prime Minister of The Federation Dr. the Hon. Denzil Douglas on a panel with Congresswoman Donna Christensen of the U.S Virgin Islands and other invited guests for the Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) presentation.
This will be a unique opportunity for the Premier to showcase Nevis under the theme “Creating Partnerships for a Sustainable Future”, in his discussion on Sports, Economic development, access to financial capital and infrastructure needs.
The Premier will witness Dr. Douglas receive an award from this distinguished institution. Many honorees including Black Enterprise Publisher Earl Graves Sr., Legendary Actress Cicely Tyson and former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young have all received awards from this Institution.
While in North America the Premier will also use this opportunity to meet with Nationals and Friends of the Federation in Town Hall Meetings in Washington D.C,, New York and Toronto to discuss the latest developments on the island, including investments and the way forward for Nevis.
