Teachers of high schools in St. Kitts and Nevis will also be given laptops.
This was disclosed by St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas during a visit to seven high schools on St. Kitts on Tuesday.
Some 6,500 laptops now being manufactured are to be given to students of high schools starting with fifth formers in November in the first phase.
During the annual visit to high schools on Tuesday, Prime Minister Douglas presented a laptop to the principals of the Basseterre High School, the Washington Archibald High School, the Convent High School, the Cayon High School, the Saddlers Secondary School, the Sandy Point High School and the Verchild’s High School.
In symbolically handing over a laptop to the principals of each of the high schools during the visit of the Cabinet of Ministers, Prime Minister Douglas announced “not only the students will have, but the teachers as well will have their laptops.”
“We do not want the students to go beyond the teachers in technology so we are also providing for our teachers,” said Prime Minister Douglas.
