The Hon. Mark Brantley

The Appeal Court has spoken and the Hon. Mark Brantley has triumphed.
The PAM wishes to place on record its congratulations to the Hon. Mark Brantley. PAM has wrestled with the Office of the Supervisor and his staff over a period of years, pointing out their lack of transparency and integrity in the conduct of their duties.
We are therefore pleased that the Court of Appeal has recorded its condemnation of the conduct of the Supervisor of Elections and a member of his staff. It is a vindication of our position advocated over several years.
We of the PAM therefore, reiterate our call for the resignation of the Supervisor of Elections. We have called for his resignation on several occasions and we are still disturbed that he continues in his employment as Supervisor after publicly referring to Her Majesty’s loyal leader of the Opposition as a liar. At that point we expected him to do the honourable thing which was to resign.
The person appointed to the Office of Supervisor of Elections must conduct himself transparently and with the highest degree of integrity; virtues that have been shattered by the decision handed down by the Court of Appeal; a decision that favoured the Hon. Mark Brantley.
We of the Peoples Action Movement reflecting on the outcomes of the elections of 2004 and 2010 are satisfied that Democracy has prevailed on this occasion; and we are pleased therefore, to congratulate the Hon. Mark Brantley on his triumph delivered in a judgement by the Court of Appeal.
