Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry sealed his commitment to Brown Hill Communications on Monday, when he received an update on the Call Centre’s operations and their plans to provide more employment opportunities to the residents of Nevis.

At a briefing at his Bath Hotel office with Managing Director, Mr. Sheik-Nur Hagi and representative, Mr. Dan Chapman, the Premier declared his government’s obligation to lend support to the Nevis Call Centre. Mr. Chapman, a nineteen-year communications veteran, will be on island for five months to train and coach Brown Hill Communications staff.

The first group of 25 persons who were recently trained are presently taking calls at the centre and a second batch will be ready for August 6th. By the second week of September, a staff of 50 should be trained and working.

“I am happy with Mr. Hagi and Mr. Chapman for coming to see me and updating me on the productivity of Brown Hill Communications.  I am also pleased to say that by the end of the year the Call Centre would have a staff of roughly one hundred persons,” explained Premier Parry.

Entry-level workers will earn a salary of EC$2300.00 per month, while Supervisors and Managers will realize an even more attractive monthly income.

According to Centredaily.com Business section, “due to economic hardship and increasing gas prices, travel has become a luxury most Americans cannot afford.”

In response to the demand for affordable travel options, the St. Kitts Marriott Resort has reduced room rates for Florida residents to US$99 per night and supported an initiative with American Airlines to offer discount airfare for travel from Miami.

“Concerns about the economy and increases in airfare costs are making it impossible for travelers, even for Florida residents who are so close to the Caribbean,” said Simon Bell, Director of Marketing for the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, Simon Bell.

“This sale will provide those residents with an affordable Caribbean vacation option, despite the difficult times,” said Belle.
