.22 Caliber Ammunition Found In Police Raid

A joint Police and Customs search in Nevis turned up two illegal weapons, bring to six the number of firearms seized on Nevis for the year.
A police statement on Thursday said that a search warrant was executed on the home of John and Cheryl Andrews at Hamilton Estate, Nevis.
“The warrant was executed by a joint team comprising of Police and Nevis Customs Enforcement. One .22 rifle and 323 rounds of .22 ammunition and one BB rifle and a pack of BB pellets were found at the home,” said the Police statement.
It said both persons have been arrested and charged for possession of the illegal firearms and ammunition. Six (6) illegal firearms were recovered in Nevis so far for 2009.
