ECCB Monetary Council Meeting In Saint Kitts – Nevis

The St. Kitts-based Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is hosting next week’s 57th Meeting of the ECCB Monetary Council.

The sub-regional financial institution said Thursday the meeting will convene under the  Chairmanship of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, National Security, Legal Affairs and Grenadines Affairs, Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves.

The Council, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s highest decision-making body, will receive the Governor’s report on monetary and credit conditions. The Council will also provide directives and guidelines to the Central Bank as mandated by the ECCB Agreement 1983, which governs the operations of the Bank.

Monetary Council meetings are attended by the Ministers of Finance from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Montserrat and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Following the meeting the Council will hold a press briefing with members of the St Kitts and Nevis media
