Nevis Artisans Attend Workshop In St. Lucia

One of the Nevis Island Administration’s thrust is to improve the development of its human resources.  To this end, the Ministries of Trade and Industry and Human Resources sponsored two of the ten local business persons, who are currently attending a workshop in Management Techniques for Skilled Artisans and Small Contractors.
The workshop is currently being held in St. Lucia and according to Minister of Trade and Industry, the Hon Hensley Daniel, “Caribbean Development Bank paid for eight persons, but we wanted as many persons as possible to attend, so the Nevis Island Administration added two persons so that they could benefit from the workshop.

Senior Citizens of Bath Village Were Honoured

Bath United Sports and Social Club on National Heroes Day held a cocktail reception in honour of its senior citizens of the Bath Village Community at the Bath Community Centre.
The Club, which was recently formed, staged the event as the first of many activities planned for the ensuing year. President of the Club, Mrs Karen Claxton Amory expressed her profound gratitude to the organisers of the event as she welcomed all to the gathering.

Canadian High Commissioner Visits Premier Parry

Canadian High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, His Excellency Mr. Michael Welsh on Tuesday 19, paid a half-day visit to Nevis, where he met and held discussions with Premier, the Hon Joseph Parris and Deputy Governor General, His Hon Mr Eustace John.
The Barbados based Diplomat sought to establish linkages with the new Premier of the Nevis Island Administration and to improve on the existing relations between both countries during the meeting which was held at the Conference Room at the Oualie Beach Hotel.

Nevis Minister of Utilities Calls On Graduates To Improve

Junior Minister of Utilities in the Nevis Island Administration, the Hon Carlisle Powell called on graduates of the NEVLEC Linesmen Training Workshop to improve their standard of performance.
He was at the time addressing the closure of a two week workshop held at the company’s training room at Prospect.  “My government believes that with proper training, our workers will be better prepared to deliver consistently high quality service.
