St. Kitts and Nevis’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Sen. the Hon. Richard Skerritt, was in Toronto, Canada this week to tell Canadians about the twin-island federation in advance of that carrier’s weekly flight to St. Kitts and Nevis’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.

He was in the Canadian city to launch a promotional campaign to build awareness of the islands as a winter destination for Canadians.

“We want Canadians to know that although St. Kitts is best known as a luxury destination, there is a wide range of affordable options on the islands,” Minister Skerritt is reported as saying in the Toronto Romantic Getaway Examiner.

A key factor in the tourism campaign is Air Canada’s new non-stop weekly flight service to St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport from Toronto, which will launch on December 23, 2011 for the peak winter 2011/2012 travel season which ends April 6, 2012.

“If you act fast you can take advantage of a special promotion for travel to the Caribbean islands of St. Kitts & Nevis this winter.  Book an Air, Hotel and Transfer package with Air Canada Vacations by October 31, 2011 and you’ll receive free seat selection and access to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge. Or, you can choose to upgrade to Executive Class service for only $149.00 per person round-trip,” stated the Examiner.

Air Canada flight AC1778 will depart Toronto (YYZ) at 8:40 a.m. and arrive into St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport at 2:40 p.m. every Friday.  The same-day return flight AC1779 will depart St. Kitts at 3:40 p.m. and arrive into Toronto at 8:00 p.m.

Air Canada will use an Airbus 319 aircraft with 108 Economy Class seats and 12 Business Class seats for this flight.  All flights are listed in local time.  Reservations will be handled exclusively via Air Canada Vacations and their associated travel agencies.

“Canada has always been a valuable source market for visitors and investors as well as home to a large contingent of our Diaspora. I am gratified that Air Canada Vacations is adding us to their list of partner destinations this coming winter and our Government is working closely with our local hoteliers and other St. Kitts and Nevis tourism stakeholders to make full use of this opportunity to strengthen our travel and tourism relationship with Canada,” said Mr. Skerritt earlier this year.
