Charlestown, Nevis

Gift giving in the season of joy and goodwill, the Nevis Island Administration delivered a variety of gifts to the elderly residing at the Flamboyant Home at Charlestown and the St. George’s /St. John’s Senior Citizens’ Home in Gingerland.
“We must remember the elderly upon whose shoulders we stand today,” said Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry, as he distributed items which included toiletries and simple knick-knacks to be enjoyed by the seniors.
Minister of Health and Social Transformation, Hon. Hensley Daniel said it is of great importance to bring well-wishes and holiday cheer to the residents of the nursing homes here in Nevis. ‘I am pleased to hand the gifts to senior citizens, who have paved the way for us all,’ he said.Premier Parry thanked the Hospital Administrator, Mrs. Veta Morton, Doctor Cardell Rawlins and all the members of staff at the Flamboyant Nursing Home who ensure that a healthy, pleasant environment is provided for all residents at the home.
“I am happy to spend time with all of you this season. We must remember that this is the time to bring good cheer, spend time with those around us and show appreciation for what you have done for us in the past; and now we must look at what we can do for you!”
This is just one more example of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) continuing its mission to show support and respect to the elderly in Nevis. Under the NRP led administration elderly persons have been taken on day trips, honoured at luncheons, kept active in the day at community centres on the island; and those celebrating milestones have been recognised by the media through the encouragement of the NRP.
