Please note that the Seventh Day Adventist School is inviting us to their 100th Day of School (counting from the first day of school in September to Monday) which is an activity done in the US but was brough to the Seventh Day Adventist School in St. Kitts by Kindergarten Teacher Beverly Supersaud. She said it commenced in just her class but since its 2002/03 inception has escalated to other classes and now involves community outreach activities.
The day will be celebrated on Monday, February 25, 2008 and events include inclass worksheet activities, 100 balloons will be released at 1:30 pm, there will be an Exhibition of things make from 100 individual pieces, children will identify a profession and dress that way. Business persons were also invited to create things to add to the Exhibition also made of 100 individual pieces. Business representatives were invited to give presentations about their businesses using 100 words or 100 seconds.
One outreach activity involving sponsorship from businesses is the putting together of 100 food baskets to distribute to the needy.
The following day Tuesday, February 26, students from the school will visit a centenarian. Each year they try to visit someone exactly 100 years old but this year they only found a person who was just over 100.
