St. Kitts – Nevis PM Receives Donated Fire Extinguisher

Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency Miguel Tsao is of the view that several pieces of office equipment and machines to the Fire & Rescue Services would fulfill urgent needs and demands.

He told a handing over ceremony Wednesday that with the start of the 2013 Hurricane Season, the federation could be threatened by some of the 20 Atlantic tropical storms waiting to permeate through the Caribbean with at least 7 of them turning to be hurricanes.

“Hence these certain equipments will be entrusted to operate at full blast to safeguard human security and properties,” said Ambassador Tsao.

He added that part of the facilities are to ensure good social order, which would assist the police force in seeking more channels to clump down the crime-committing and help build up this beautiful country as a safe haven.

“The other facilities would serve to enhance the service and performance of civil servants to the general public as well as upgrade with efficiency and effectiveness of the personnel in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Homeland Security and Legal Affairs. You would be aware that the abovementioned things to be done are part and parcel of the attribution to my feeling so pleased,” said Mr. Tsao.

He noted that 2013 seems to have brought about more meaning, caliber and inspiration to highlight the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties enshrined in long-termed solid relationship and friendships.

“As both ROC (Taiwan) and St. Kitts and Nevis Governments have undertaken plenty of cooperation projects in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, tourism, education, human empowerment”¦etc. to benefit people, you would be rest assured that all tangible results have been targeted and accomplished step by step through Governments’ bilateral assiduous planning and cooperation,” Ambassador Tsao said.

He used the opportunity to extend much gratitude to Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas for his unreserved assistance and staunch support for Taiwan that has been allowed to demonstrate its capacity to shape a growingly perfect St. Kitts and Nevis.

“Honourable Foreign Minister Nisbett, I thank you for what has been performed in the past months after assuming your new and additional portfolio. I recalled that you received my Minister of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan as the first high-ranked official from abroad, which has been to our honor. And Minister Lin’s visit and discussion here with you in this February have proved to lay good foundation for bilateral relation,” said the Taiwan diplomat.

“To the most senior civil servants in the SKN Cabinet Secretary Edmeade and Permanent Secretary Newton, I would like to manifest sincere thanks for your seamless contribution and tireless job as shown in daily operation. Your thoughtful coordination of bringing this ceremony to fruition is definitely appreciated,” said Ambassador Tsao before presenting the donation to Prime Minister Douglas.
