St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has assured the Republic of China on Taiwan of his Government’s voice in support of Taiwan’s full participatory membership in the international arena.
This assurance was made in a message to President of the Republic of China on Taiwan, His Excellency Dr. Ma Ying-jeou to mark Taiwan’s 99th National Day.
“The Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis applaud the progressive strides your Government has made in improving the lives of your people over the years and join in celebrating the pride and rich history that this special day represents. It is my sincerest hope that your country will continue to thrive,” said Prime Minister Douglas in a message to President of the Republic of China on Taiwan, His Excellency Dr. Ma Ying-jeou.
Prime Minister Douglas expressed thanks to President Ma for the key role his Government has played in fostering further development in St. Kitts and Nevis.
“St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan have long enjoyed a friendly and fruitful relationship which has flourished and proven to be of great mutual benefit. Please be assured of my continued commitment to the further strengthening of our great bond. My Government will continue to voice its support for full participatory membership of Taiwan in the international arena,” said Dr. Douglas.
Last Thursday, the new Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Mr. Miguel Li-jey Tsao and Mrs. Tsao hosted a Reception to mark the occasion at the Rivers of Living Water Christian Centre at Lime Kiln Institutional and Commercial Park.
