Two United States carriers and a British airline brought more passengers into St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport during the second quarter this year compared to the same period last year.

Statistics from the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) indicate a decrease in inbound and outbound passengers during the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.

SCASPA figures indicate 31,418 arrived between the months of April, May and June compared to 32,914 passengers for the same period in 2011, a drop of 1,496 passengers.

Passengers departing also declined by 1,900 passengers from 33,367 in the same period last year to 31,467 for the same quarter this year.

American Airlines brought in 14,235 passengers, 101 less than the 14,336 for the same period last year; LIAT, 9,094 passengers during the second quarter this year, 1,104 passengers less than 14,336 for the same period last year; American Eagle, 2,296 passengers, 764 less than the same period last year; British Airways brought in 1,727 passengers, 49 more than the same period last year; Delta Air, 1,804 passengers, an increase of 160 passengers than the 1,644 passengers last year and US Airways, 1,334 passengers during the second quarter this year, up 35 passengers compared to the 1,299 for the same period last year.

The Robert Bradshaw Airport also recorded 1,411 inward bound flights for the second quarter this year compared to 1,458 for the second quarter last year. Flights out also decreased from 1,464 in the second quarter this year to 1,405 for the same period last year.

Other airlines operating in and out of the Robert Bradshaw Airport during the quarter under review were Air Canada with 117 passengers in and 238 passengers out from two flights in April.

Anguilla Air brought in 70 passengers and took out 65 during the three month period; Miami Air with 166 passengers from two flights in June and 26 passengers arrived on Trans Anguilla Airways in April and June from 8 flights.

NetJets accounted for 15 passengers from five flights while private aircraft brought in 203 passengers.
