St. Kitts’ Port Zante is on the itinerary of The WhollyGenes Fourth Annual Cruise and Conference scheduled for October 26th to November 2nd 2008.

The Conference will be held on board the 3,622-passenger Caribbean Princess which leaves New York on October 26th with St. Kitts, its first port of call on Thursday October 30th.

From St. Kitts, the 113,000 tonne Caribbean Princess will visit Antigua, St. Thomas and then San Juan, Puerto Rico.

President of the WhollyGenes, Bob Velke, who is the developer of The Master Genealogist, a genealogy database software programme said that the educational and fun-filled voyage to the Eastern Caribbean will include opportunities to learn about genealogical research methods, tools and technologies from noted speakers and authorities in those fields.Speakers will include Elizabeth Shown Mills, former editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly; Barbara Vines Little, Virginia research expert; John Grenham, Irish genealogist; and John Tidford, British genealogist and author.

Genealogist and military expert Craig Scott, “Cyndi’s List” creator and online research expert Cyndi Howell, Tony Burroughs and Megan Smolenyak will also present lectures.

“The Master Genealogist” lectures will be presented by Bob Velke, John Cardinal, Lee Hoffman, Phil DeSilva and Ken Riggins.

The Genealogy Study Group is dedicated to helping family history researchers use computers to assist in the search, research, organization, management and publication of information about their family history.

The Caribbean Princess is a new “Grand Class” ship, built in 2004 and carries 3,622 people plus a crew of 1200. It has a large theater for our main events and a “high-tech lounge” for software presentations.

Onboard activities include a casino, chapel, modern fitness equipment, gymnasium, jogging track, pools, saunas, and a variety of restaurants, lounges, nightclubs, and live entertainment.

It even has a virtual golf simulator, a 9-hole putting green, and an outdoor movie theater. The Caribbean Princess offers “Personal Choice” dining (i.e., flexible seatings), and an Internet Cafe.
