Seven bills will be debated when the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly meets on Thursday. Five will be introduced and read a first time while the other two were introduced at previous sittings of the lawmaking body.
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will introduce and have read a first and second time and debate The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2011; The Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Bill, 2011; The Trusts (Amendment) Bill, 2011; The Foundations (Amendment) Bill, 2011 and The Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2011.
Prime Minister Douglas will also lead off debate on The Housing and Social Development Levy (Amendment) Bill, 2011, which had its first reading at the 9th February sitting.
Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Posts, Hon. Glenn Phillip will lead the debate on The Electronic Transactions Bill, 2011, which had its first reading at the November 25th 2010 sitting.
Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, Marine Resources, Cooperatives and Constituency, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, will introduce and have read a first time, The Co-operative Societies Bill, 2011.
