Minister of Culture the Hon. Marcella Liburd has congratulated the Federation’s participants in last weekend’s Leeward Islands Calypso Competition in Anguilla.

She says the Federation’s youths continue to excel in the kaison arena.

Defending his crown and hoping for a historic three peat was King Konris. Representing Nevis was King Hollywood, the newly crowned 2011 Culturama Monarch and from St. Kitts, King Pungwa, the reigning National Monarch.

After an exciting competition Dr. Splinter from Anguilla was crowned king while Konris was named first runner up.

“The Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs in collaboration with the National Carnival Committee and the Honourable Marcella Liburd, congratulate King Konris for maintaining a high standard of performance, and King Pungwa and Hollywood for exceptional performances,” the Ministry said in a statement.
