Catholics in St. Kitts and Nevis have begun planning a Special Welcome and Thanksgiving Mass for the new Bishop of St. John’s-Basseterre.

Parish Priest Fr. Bernard Latus said special committees have been planning the Mass which takes place at the Co-Cathedral in Basseterre on Thursday 9th February at 5:30 P.M.

The ordination to Episcopate of the new Bishop, Monsignor Kenneth Richards will take place on Wednesday 8th February in Antigua.

On Thursday February 9th, Monsignor Richards is expected to be given a VIP welcome at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and will be escorted in a motorcade to Presbytery on East Independence Square Street.

Governor General His Excellency Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian, Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs, the Hon. Marcella Liburd are expected to join other invited guest from the local church and parish community in welcoming the new Bishop at the service.
