The Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) will officially launch its newly established office on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
“The main aims of the event are to create greater awareness and understanding of the investments that the SIDF has made in the Federation, and to identify key projects and initiatives within priority sectors of the economy through consultation with representatives from various industries,” said SIDF’s Delcia Bradley King.
She said the consultative exploratory working session will be facilitated by PricewaterhouseCoopers Eastern Caribbean, and the outcomes will contribute towards the creation of the strategic vision of the Foundation.
The five key areas that will be discussed are Educational Services, Economic Diversification & Food Security, Alternative Energy, Tourism & Hospitality and Recreation, Culture & Sports (The Creative Industry).
The opening ceremony will commence at 9:00 a.m. and will feature various local and overseas presenters.
She said a press conference will be held immediately after the ceremony, and this will be followed by the exploratory working session which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and in which some 50 persons will participate.
Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, members of Parliament, senior government officials, representatives of public and private sector organizations and members of the print and broadcast media have been invited to this major event.
